Scribe Insight Version 7.9.2 is the current release of Scribe Insight. Version 7.9.2 provides the following enhancements and product improvements:

  • Support for Microsoft Windows 10
  • Support for Microsoft SQL Server AlwaysOn
  • Support for TLS 1.2 (applies to specific adapters - please click here to review important information)
  •     Note: an important hot fix is available for an issue with TLS that was discovered and fixed after 7.9.2 was released. Click here to view the hot fix.

  • Other requested enhancements and defect fixes from internal Scribe departments and our MVP and user communities.

  • Scribe Insight Version 7.9.2 includes all of the latest compatible adapters. If you upgrade to Insight 7.9.2 from any version prior to version 7.9, you must upgrade any adapters you use to the current version.


       As of Insight 7.6.2, Scribe ended support for a number of outdated adapters. Do not upgrade beyond Scribe Insight 7.6.2 if you want to continue using these adapters. The outdated adapters can be found on the Older and Retired Scribe Insight and Adapters Download Page.


    Scribe Insight releases include a number of user-requested features based upon community voting in Scribe OpenMind. Be sure to cast your votes today to influence future product releases!


    Before you begin

    Scribe strongly recommends that you review the Release Notes for Scribe Insight and any adapters you will be installing. The release notes are installed with Scribe Insight and each of the adapters, or they can be downloaded from this page.


    ATTENTION! Before upgrading from Insight 7.6.2 or earlier, Scribe strongly recommends that you perform maintenance on the Scribe Internal Database to delete old execution and transaction error history. The upgrade process from these earlier versions makes several modifications to tables in the Internal Database that can timeout if there are very large numbers of records in these tables.
      Please review the Release Notes and click here to download the ScribeMaintenance.sql, then perform the specified Internal Database clean up procedures before upgrading.


    Before installing Scribe Insight or any adapter, locate your serial number. Scribe Insight requires you to register the software and you will need your serial number to register.


      Local administrative privileges are required to install Scribe Insight or any adapter.


      If you are not on a current maintenance agreement, you can use your current version of Scribe Insight, but you will not be able to upgrade. To view the expiration dates of your maintenance agreements, select "Check for Product Updates" from the Scribe Insight Help menu, or contact Scribe Sales at sales@scribesoft.com.


    View the Compatibility Matrix to understand which adapters and templates are compatible with which versions of Scribe Insight.


    Before installing any adapter upgrades, always check the release notes for any templates you may have installed to ensure that the templates are compatible with the upgraded adapter.


      Instructions for installing and setting up each adapter are provided in a Help file that is installed with the adapter. The Help files can be downloaded separately and are also available online in the Scribe Insight Help library.


    Help files cannot be viewed over the internet or over a network. Save the Help file to your local drive and then double-click on the file to open it. Still having trouble opening a Help file?

    This installer includes Scribe Insight and the latest release of all adapters, including:

    After you have downloaded the compressed .exe file:

    1. Run the .exe; you will be prompted for a directory to unzip the files to.
    2. After the files are unzipped, browse to that location and run setup.exe.
    3. Follow the instructions to install the core product and, optionally, any adapters you need.

    Scribe Insight 7.9.2 Hot Fix 1

      ATTENTION! Defect 25995 was discovered after the release of Insight 7.9.2 and was fixed by the hot fix below. If you install Insight 7.9.2 and encounter the issue described below, please download and install this hot fix per the instructions in the .zip file.

  • Description: This hot fix resolves the issue of not being able to connect to a system because of a TLS/SSL error.
  • Symptoms: When setting up a connection and clicking OK, you receive the following error:
  •      Source: System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.
         Description: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.


  • Cause: Insight was requiring TLS 1.2 to be enabled. On systems where TLS 1.2 is not enabled, Insight was not falling back to use TLS 1.1 or 1.0.

  •  Hot Fix 1 (32- or 64-bit):  Download ScribeInsight792_HF1.zip
